When you buy Pokémon products, you have three main options: sealed products, single cards, and graded cards in slabs. None is absolutely better; it all depends on your goal and budget. Here's how they compare, to help you choose wisely.
Sealed Products: Boosters, Displays, Collection Boxes
Sealed products are original, unopened items. They cater to two very different desires:
- The thrill of opening: the excitement of pulling your own cards. It's about the game, the chance, the experience.
- A long-term bet: a sealed product that remains unopened can increase in value once the set is out of print and no longer sold.
The key thing to understand: if you open to resell the cards immediately, the value of the cards obtained is generally lower than the price of the sealed product. Single Cards
Buying single cards means getting exactly the card you want, without paying for the rest. This is the most precise and controlled option:
